ReplyDeleteJust going through this timeline makes me think that in Germany, for a certain period of time, people completely forgot what a fellow human being was. It's crazy how they treated other people who were their friends, neighbors, countrymen. I know things just as horrific possibly still happen in places like Sudan and yeah, it's crazy that it does, and that we let it.
ReplyDeleteI attached this picture. It seems you are unable to properly post pictures or links in replies, but I pasted the link anyways. It is from the movie The Pianist, which takes place in Nazi-Poland. Really good movie.

It's frightening how long is lasted, that the entire world could be in such chaos for such a long time. We've privileged to live in a country that hasn't seen war on it's shores for more than a century. I cant imagine going through what Vladek and his family did, without ever knowing if it would end, or if I would live to see it. With the middle-east being in such a flux, from good news like Egypt fighting for it's freedom, to the Israel-Palestine conflict, I'd hate for history to repeat itself for us, our the next generation.
